Christians Need More Sound, Theological Content
After my conversation with Jonny Ardavanis in episode 20 of the TheoBros Podcast, particularly our discussion about George Whitefield and his massive influence, I came to realize I need to be more consistent, intentional, and hopeful in producing online content. I’m primarily a father and a pastor, so I’ve triaged some things in my life to ensure my family’s and church’s spiritual well-being. But the last few months have shown I have some time to produce my own content…I just have to be a bit more disciplined.
I’ve blogged and tweeted for years, and I’ve seen fruit. I’ve met some amazing people along the way. Christians are not only desperate for more sound, theological voices on the interwebs, but I need to keep myself in the practice of studying Scripture, meditating on it, and applying it to the current cultural moment. Reading and writing is an important part of the Christian life, and I’d love for you to do it too. Everyone has influence somewhere, and the more we can flood the internet with Gospel truth, the more light our children and grandchildren will have in the years to come.
Post Scripture on Facebook.

Use your influence — in your community and online — for God’s glory.
Unless the Lord takes me, there will be plenty of TheoBros substacks in your spam mail in the coming months.

Episode 19: Janet Mefferd: The Blackmailing and Mistreatment of Tom and Jennifer Buck by the SBC
The way Janet deals with the facts of the SBC blackmailing of Tom Buck and the wicked mistreatment of Jennifer is second to none.
She is an esteemed reporter and award-winning Christian radio broadcaster, was heard on more than 450 radio stations nationwide during her 12 years of daily national syndication. She is also a former news and religion reporter and editor for newspapers including The Dallas Morning News and the Daily Herald in suburban Chicago.
I really wanted to have her on to talk about the issues surrounding South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the rank mistreatment of Tom and Jennifer Buck — what really amounts to blackmail to keep him quiet about the SBC’s drift into Wokeness and Liberalism.
Episode 20: Jonny Ardavanis: Digestible Theology, God-Honoring Content, George Whitefield, Twitter Dunks, Dial In, and the Lakers
Jonny is the Dean of Campus Life at The Master’s University and hosts the podcast Dial In. He’s a content creator for For The Gospel Ministry and the Content Director of The Masters Fellowship.
This was a fun episode. Jonny has a pastor’s heart, a sincere desire to bring good theology to people in all walks of life, and has some terrific John MacArthur stories. I was convicted as I listened to him encourage content creators to become “tenderized” by the Word of God and through interactions with people outside the church.
Episode 21: Scott Christensen, author of “What About Evil?”
The Great Scott Christensen pastored in Colorado for sixteen years before joining the staff of Kerrville Bible Church in Kerrville, Texas as an associate pastor. He and his wife have four sons. He’s the author of two books, “What about Free Will?” and “What about Evil?”
Even after reading the book, reading book summaries, and listening to a few podcasts, I learned a lot from this interview. We talked about theodicies, the problems with Free-will libertarianism, and the Bible’s J-shaped narrative. Buy his book!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Weekend
Have a terrific weekend and Lord’s Day, TheoBros. I’ll be taking some teens to a youth camp featuring Rick Holland, Owen Strachan, H.B. Charles, and Bruce Ware. Until next time: keep reforming, keep loving sound theology, and keep worshipping Christ as King.
