TheoBros Memo Issue #23: Darren Wiebe on Worship, Eric Dodson on Valuing Children, Redeeming Productivity, Twitter Fire from The TheoBros/Sistas
TheoBros and TheoSistas,
Maybe you didn’t catch the latest TheoBros Podcast, so I want to share it with you. My time with Darren Wiebe was glorious, and not just because he’s a Canadian and says “sooory,” an avid spin-cycler, and eerily similar to our good friend Samuel Sey. God has also given him incredible wisdom and insight into leading worship on the Lord’s Day. If you are a worship leader and want to be more biblical on Sunday mornings, you need to listen to episode 30.
Some of my favorite insights include worship as a corporate act, a “one another” in Scripture, and the goal of “Forgetful Excellence” as the worship team leads. Darren also gives us an insider’s point-of-view of Keith and Kristyn Getty and their faithfulness in ministry.
Next Up: Eric Dodson
Eric is a good and generous friend, as well as a faithful pastor down in Texas. He has a terrific beard and embodies everything TheoBro culture is about: he smokes meat, loves sound theology, but most of all, he loves his church. We’re going to let him talk about the truthfulness of this viral tweet on Monday.

Redeeming Productivity: Getting More Done for the Glory of God
We often feel overworked and overrun, defeated and discouraged. The world says be productive so that you can get all you can out of this life. The Bible says be productive so you can gain more of the next life. In Redeeming Productivity, author Reagan Rose explores how God’s glory is the purpose for which He planted us. And he shows how productivity must be firmly rooted in the gospel. Only through our connection to Christ—the True Vine—are we empowered to produce good fruit. This book shows how we can maintain the vitality of that connection through simple, life-giving disciplines. Readers will discover manageable applications like giving God the first fruits of our days. Additionally, Reagan discusses how our perspective on suffering is transformed as we see trials as God’s pruning for greater productivity.
